The Piper stands at the seafront end of Norman Road in St Leonards, the street of independent shops, cafés and galleries that has made this corner of the town a destination of its own.

After six years shut, it reopened in July 2019 as a grassroots rock 'n' roll and arts venue. Bands and DJs play in the room upstairs, which holds about 150.

There is real ale on the bar but no kitchen, so you are welcome to bring in a takeaway from one of the many places along Norman Road and London Road.
